The Lovely Bones Review (Movie)

With the title alone it already gave me a hint that this movie is puzzling around a phenomenal enigma. I thought at first this could be a horror medical movie. It was later on I found out that the movie was an adaptation of a novel by Alice Sebold. I know movies don't do the same well as in books, but I love how the movies captured the mesmerizing mirage in a short period of time.

" My name is Salmon,like the fish;Sussie. I was
fourteen when I was murdered on December 6,1973"

Susie Salmon was a 14 year old girl, who unfortunately was murdered by their psychopath neighbor. The Salmon's were like picture perfect family. Susie was cheerful and creative.Susie indeed enjoyed his childhood years and embracing the life as a teen.

The movie was really more interesting to watch because Susie, who was murdered, narrated the whole story. The movie allowed the people to have a glimpse of what is it like to be a lost soul, seeking for vengeance and still holding on ,beholding the despondency of your loved ones.

To loose someone is like being stab by a knife, but to let go and move on is more painful. I cried when I saw Susie's parents faces after knowing their daughter is dead. It is most painful when you knew someone had indecorously took the life of your love one. It is mostly impossible to stop hanging on the transparent thread, because you will keep on believing that the thread will lead you back to him/her.

Here are some Quotes form the book and the movie

"Murder had a blood red door on
the other side of which was everything unimaginable to everyone"

When a family is in agony of tragedy, people would understand and have that empathy not to intervene the grieving family. Neighbors and friends perhaps would distant themselves and give them time to erase the drenching black memory.

For me when a family is soaked in these unimaginable situations, they are in most need of presence and ears of other people. Neighbors and friends don't need to help them elucidate the heartache but they need to let the in pain family feel their warmth and care. No need of words to be spoken but just an embrace and a mind open for their sentiments.

It is much more appreciated if neighbors and friends would just help the family remember the good things that had happened and distant themselves of letting the family remember the sad story. I do believe people's weakest is emotions, emotions are vulnerable, no matter how try to hide them, it will just overflow and show. People needs people to survive, to continue living on and to hope to live on.

Every now and then we all hear about murder cases. This movie reminded me of Geraldine Palma, a 7 year old little girl who's body was found on a suitcase floating in the Breakwater last August,2007.

Susie's body was never found. I guess this maybe one reason why pain really did linger on that pain killers could not steal away the aches. Unless there was no confirmation or evidence we continue to assume. Salmon family, especially Susie's dad, lived in that way, they knew she was dead but inside them is saying that Susie will soon come home.

There was Susie's heaven whom she had met other young girls who were also brutally killed. There was Holly, who became her company in her journey.A As sussie watched the trembling earth she had found that these girls were just like her, someone has stolen their blissful lives.

"Because Horror on Earth is real and it is
everyday. It is like the flower or the sun, it cannot be contained."
I agree on this statement, truly on earth every second is like a thief a thief in the night.Every tick of the clock someone is whaling for his life, someone is ruthlessly breaking the smile of tomorrow. There are invincible things that awaits to be seen and be given freedom. No man is innately bad, because we are created in Image and likeness of God. There are just men driven by the poisonous system, this system kills their soul. But I know in time they will be able to feel the pain they have done and I know that in time this poison in them will vanish. No matter how bad or evil may is he, there is still a glowing piece of his heart because we were all created in Image and Likeness of God.
